ADAM FREELAND BIOGRAPHY:

Kicking off in 1996 'Coastal Breaks' heralded the beginning of something new - breakbeat- the new cutting edge of dance music. Nights such as 'Friction' (Adam's night) outgrew their smaller underground roots to deservedly take their place in the industry's limelight, with the scene's new hero Adam breaking the barriers and selling the sound. Since then his impact has clearly been phenomenal. The world waited. Adam delivered. 'Techtonics' - the follow up to the legendary 'Coastal Breaks' capturing the electricity only Adam can generate. Adam has earned his reputation as an innovative and pioneering natural talent in dance music. He stamped his mark on the club scene through his seamless blending of hip hop and electro into his deep house sets.
By 1997 he stood as a considerable force on the global DJ circuit, claiming such admirers as Carl Cox, the Chemical Brothers and Sasha. Since then Adam has spent most of his time 'on tour'; spreading the good word of breakbeat across land and sea through his monthly escapades to the USA, Australia, Asia and of course Europe. Back in blighty Adam holds a residency at arguably the world's most prestigious club- Fabric in London- where his genre-trashing dynamic sound has leant him to be the only DJ to alternate between Friday's breaks night and Saturday's house night. A sure sign of quality.

Marine Parade, his own Brighton based record label and home to top drawer artists such as Apex, Evil 9 and new sensation Ils, is widely recognised as being at the cutting edge of dance music, so much so that it was nominated for Musik's 'best independent label' award. Its in his studio in Brighton that the knowledge learned from the globe's dance floors is translated. Tsunami One (Adam & Beber), responsible for breakbeat's first hit -'Hip Hop Phenomenon', has remixed the likes of Orbital and the Orb's classic 'Little Fluffy Clouds'. As 'Adam freeland' he's remixed Pressure Drop, Planet Funk, Fluke and Aquasky and is currently deep inside his debut album due for release in 2002. Hailed as the ambassador of an ever more popular breaks scene it is little wonder that heavyweights such as Carl Cox and Sasha site Adam as the force responsible for influencing many genres, DJs and countries with his unique exciting sound.

Adam is not one to be pidgeon-holed. His open-minded musical approach fuses the best elements from across the board into an intricately produced form. A form determined to defy mundanity, push boundaries and test the limits whilst still maintaining his trademark dance floor devastation. This makes for a lethal combination. Adam's third mix abum 'On Tour' released in July 2002 on Marine Parade UK was quickly acknowledged as his finest hour. Not content with rolling with the status quo he has revolutionised the way mix albums are conceived and produced. Adam has perfectly captured the electric live feel and crowd ambience from world's best dance floors. 'On Tour' is the first mix album to truly capture the spirit of live performance.

So what now? Adam is currently deep inside his debut album due for release in 2002. Such hot property is always in demand. There is a myriad of media moguls from feature film and advertising worlds falling over themselves to cash in on Adam's revolutionary new album sound. And with good reason. The release of Adam's debut artist album which be accompanied with full live performances under the new guise 'Freeland' only makes the music industry's mouth water more. Be prepared. You have been warned!
